Getting started with new accounting software can feel daunting, but Acceby is designed to get you up and running quickly. Here's what to focus on in your first week.
Connect Your eBay Account
The first step is linking your eBay account so Acceby can pull in your sales data. Head to Settings → Connections and follow the eBay authorisation flow. Once connected, Acceby will import your recent transactions automatically.
Choose Your Accounting Software
Acceby supports three accounting platforms:
- QuickBooks — great if you're already using Intuit's ecosystem
- Xero — popular with small businesses and their accountants
- GnuCash — a free, open-source option for those who prefer full control
Connect whichever you use under Settings → Accounting. If you're not sure which to pick, QuickBooks and Xero both offer free trials.
Review Your First Import
After your first sync, head to the Transactions tab to review what's been imported. Acceby maps eBay fees, shipping costs, and sale proceeds to the correct accounts automatically — but it's worth checking the first batch to make sure everything looks right for your setup.
Set Up a Sync Schedule
By default, Acceby syncs daily. You can adjust this under Settings → Sync to match how frequently you reconcile your accounts. Weekly syncs work well for most sellers.
